Townshend is launching a line based on the Gibson Les Paul model he destroyed at the Boston Garden in 1976. The remnants of that shattered instrument are on display at a London museum. Townshend Wishes He’d Gone Solo

What would The Who have been like without guitarist Pete Townshend? A half-century later, Townshend now says he wishes he never joined the band. He says despite The Who's success, he'd have done better as a solo performer.
